Programme 2009/2010

All Wednesday meetings and Saturday workshops are held at the Bloomfield Centre in Narberth, unless stated otherwise. Wednesday meetings start 7.30 pm and Saturday workshops take place from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Workshops cost £15 for members and £20 for non-members, with the exception of those quoted otherwise. Bookings with full payments must be made with Elaine Readman (01437 720827) at the latest two months before the workshop.

We always welcome visitors, but will charge £2 for evening meetings towards the room hire.

Card Making

Emma Church will show us various ways of making cards in good time for Christmas.

Wed November 18th

Braiding and Inkle Loom Weaving

Bring your braids and show us how you made them.

Sat November 21st

Scrapyard Textiles, Narberth

Make Xmas decorations, party wear, fancy dress etc. from recycled clothing!

Wed December 16th from 1 pm

Christmas Lunch

Elaine has kindly invited us to her house in Newgale. Bring some food to share and a gift. Low tide is midday, bring wellies and have a walk before lunch!

Painted Warps

Vickie Corton will show us how to paint a warp. Warps will have to be prepared in advance.

Bring some of your stash (fibres, bits of yarn, bits of fabric) and a drumcarder and make a unique batt.

Variations of Plainweave

Laura Thomas is back with a workshop exploring plainweave. Suitable for rigid heddle looms and table looms. Weavers need to bring their own warped table loom. Instructions for warping will be provided and we will hold a warping session on Wed 17th of Feb if you need help. Please bring food for a communal lunch.

Cost: £25 (members), £30 (non-members).

Day trip to the Royal Welsh showground at Builth Wells to indulge in a day of fibres and crafts.
